The chronograph that snaps. The Japanese VK63 is a meca-quartz: a quartz timebase driving a mechanical chronograph module, so the seconds hand sweeps and the reset flies back in one movement rather than crawling.

Forty millimetres, tachymeter bezel, sapphire with anti-reflective treatment, ten bar. No winding, no daily setting, no service interval — the argument for quartz where a mechanical chronograph would cost ten times more and need a watchmaker every five years.

Five dials, on steel or on a nylon strap.
